Valentine Bake Sale & Cram the Van

The Watertown Humane Society will hold a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at ShopKo located at 701 South Church Street (Hwy 26) in Watertown from 10am to 1pm.
Bakers Wanted!
To bake and donate cakes, cookies, pies, bars, and breads for this sale. Any baked goods are welcome but cookies and bars seem to sell the best! Donated goods may be brought to the Watertown Senior Center between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday the 12th to be packaged and marked for the sale. The Senior Center is located at 514 S. 1st Street, and Humane Society members will be on hand to welcome your homemade treats.
Cram the Van
Along with this sale we will also be doing a “Cram the Van” project. The Humane Society van will be parked at ShopKo, between the two sets of doors, to accept donations of articles always needed at the shelter. “Cram the Van” means that the local Shelter’s van, with distinctive paw prints on it, will be parked at ShopKo between the two entries, and donations of cat litter and cleaning products will be gratefully accepted by members of the Board of Directors and volunteers.
ShopKo’s management has kindly allowed the local Humane Society to hold this sale for several years now, and it has been a good fund-raising event for the Shelter. All proceeds go to feed and care for the dogs and cats currently at the Shelter.
Our Special Needs
Any brand cat litter (the non-scoopable or “plain” variety), “Jungle Jake” cleaner (found at Farm & Fleet), bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, tall kitchen garbage bags, large heavy-duty garbage bags, scrubber sponges, postage stamps, gift cards from area grocery stores, and gas cards, for the van to transport animals for medical care.
For more information on the Bake Sale and “Cram the Van” you may call the Shelter at (920) 261-1270.
